Dream Home

blog

What does your ideal home look like?

My ideal home is likely a light brick or maybe just a light grey house with a black garage and black shutters. Ideally we have a nice, covered porch that I could enjoy sitting on no matter the weather. I see a three-car garage with a big driveway, as well as a decent sized front yard, however it doesn’t compare to the large back yard.

As much as I think I’d love a fenced in porch, I also have this dream of having so much land in between me and my neighbors that it just wouldn’t be necessary. We would also have a nice deck with a hot tub and some nice patio hammock chairs. We’d have a fire pit out in the yard with plenty of seating around it for fun nights with family and friends. I also would have a dedicated area for gardening and leave room for the chicken coup I hope to have one day!

Inside our home, it is freshly painted a light grey color for the main living spaces, and lined with that cool brown wood flooring throughout the house, with the occasional huge area rugs placed in living room, bedrooms and basement. I picture the living room, the kitchen, dining area, and a separate reading room/office all on the main floor, along with a half bathroom. I also see a mud room/laundry room duo which will be nicely organized.

We have an open concept kitchen with black appliances and accents that beautifully complement the white colored cabinet, and we finally have a fridge where we can get ice and water on the door. We have a separate dining area with room to seat 10-12 people, incase we ever feel like hosting for the holidays. In this room we have a nice window to see outside, so we can appreciate the view.

Upstairs we have a loft, which is set up to be a fun, chill area. We have a mounted TV and a comfy sectional with our games and movies organized on shelves. Ideally we also have a window up here that will open up so we can enjoy listening to the outside world.

Also upstairs we have a master bedroom with bathroom, two smaller bedrooms, and a separate bathroom with a tub and shower combo. Ideally the bedrooms will be for each of our two future children, and they will hand to share that common bathroom. As for our master bedroom, we would have a ginormous walk in closet with built in drawers and extra organization.

The master bathroom would have a large jet tub and an even larger shower with two shower heads on opposite sides of each other. We’d have shelving built into the shower for our soaps/shampoos and we would also have the ability to sit so it’s easier to shave my legs LOL. We would have his and hers sinks with plenty of storage underneath, and a nice linen closet for all of our towels and extra shower supplies.

As far as the basement, it would definitely be finished. Ideally it could serve as a wellness area, focused on fitness and meditation. I’d love to have a wall that is all mirrors and we could have an epoxy floor which we would also do in our garage. We would also have storage area down there with an extra fridge and ideally another half bathroom.

For now, we are grateful to be in our lovely townhome. It suits us well for this life we are living, and as fun as it is to dream about our ideal home, I have to acknowledge that right now we are living one of the very dreams I had as a young girl. I live with a respectful, caring man who loves me for me, and I get to marry him in exactly one month!!! Just as this dream is coming to fruition, I know that our ideal home is out there waiting for us, and it will be ready when we are. Until then, I am grateful for this wonderful life, and I am so happy that I am present to enjoy it.

New Week Affirmations

blog

This week will be full of good news, happy feelings and consistency.

I am living intentionally; everything I do is for my highest self.

I am deserving of good health, good habits, and confidence.

I refuse to prioritize other people’s peace over my own. I am responsible for my own inner peace.

This week will bring creative ideas, confidence, and inspiration.

Life is beautiful and I am a magnet for abundance.

Love and light are present everywhere around me.

I choose to see difficult situations through the lens of love.

My empathy and sensitivities are my strengths, may they amplify my inner strength and confidence.

I absolutely love when I awake in the morning and the sun is blaring in my eyes as our curtains hang just an inch too high above the window sill. I know that probably sounds like sarcasm, but just knowing that the sun is out and seeing how bright it is truly brings a sense of childlike joy to my heart. I’m not going to lie, I felt very exhausted waking up today, but that sunshine definitely brought some motivation.

Last month I spent time doing things I love; I went to a couple of concerts and I prioritized spending time with friends. I still battle with feeling drained after being out and hanging with people, but as long as I take time to be with myself and my thoughts afterwards, I typically end up replenishing that social battery. I absolutely love having conversations with people and just seeing how small the world is and how such different humans can still connect with each other. I truly believe that the art of listening and learning could have a profound impact in this world, which is why I am ready to get serious about my goals.

I keep talking about starting a podcast, but not making any efforts towards achieving that goal. I have most of the equipment that I need, I have endless resources at my fingertips (Google, YouTube, etc.), I have a bunch of scrambled ideas in my head, yet I haven’t put anything to paper… until yesterday! I finally did some bullet points and episode ideas and have been thinking about how to record and that I’d want to make other content out of my episodes. I have other ideas that I don’t want to go too much into detail on just yet, but I am starting to look at the resources I have and have decided I need to stop wasting time.

Last May I connected with a woman on a girls trip with one of my high school best friends, and she recently started a podcast of her own! On her podcast she is incredibly open about sharing her story and diving into her traumas, and she is creating a community of people who are healing together and growing together, which is honestly what I am wanting to do as well! Leading up to me seeing her announce her podcast, I had been getting some interactions with podcasters that I listen to on Instagram, such as Mel Robbins sharing my Instagram story to hers, and even getting a reply back from Jay Shetty in the comments!

Honestly, I had been asking for signs of what I should be putting my efforts towards and focusing on, and I kept receiving signs but still not putting in any effort. I knew that when I got these notifications of these well-known podcasters that I was supposed to explore this idea and see if this dream is what I really want to pursue. Recently I was able to reconnect with that woman from the girls trip on Instagram, and she actually invited me to be on her podcast! We chatted on the phone for a bit and she is going to send me some more information so we can get ready to record at the end of this week!

I was honestly honored that she wanted me to to be on her show, and I literally look at this as not even a sign, but as if the universe just put everything right in front of me and has made the opportunity so apparent and available. This is going to be a good test for me to see how I enjoy it and learn from her, and I am honestly just so grateful for this opportunity. Like Tony Robbins said: “Where focus goes, energy flows.” I want to make sure I am taking time to prioritize myself and my hobbies, especially while I am in this season of my life where I have the time and freedom to do so. I am excited for this next chapter, and I am blessed to have such great support around me.

Sending love to all! Have a great Sunday and week ahead. ♡

Midweek Affirmations

blog

Today is my last day of my staycation and I am ready for another good day! My boyfriend and I have been spending a lot of time together, doing different things each day. Today will be more low key as I am having him dye my hair today so we will probably just chill and go on a walk or something! However I have been feeling super grateful and happy lately so I wanted to write out some affirmations for myself- feel free to use some or write your own in the comments! Have a lovely Wednesday!

Everything that is meant for me will come to me in divine timing.

I am open to abundance and success.

My intentions are pure and my energy is clean.

I let go of all that no longer serves me, and make room for what does.

I release any forms of self-doubt or self-limiting behavior, I am ready to evolve and ascend into my highest self.

I am in love with my life and everything in it.

Everything will happen as it should, when it should; I trust the process and will enjoy each moment.

When I was in high school, I would often win concert tickets off the radio. My friends would ask me if I was somehow cheating to get these tickets, but truly I’d just plan my days around when tickets were being given out! I’d set reminders/alarms in my phone, and I’d make sure if I was at home to use my parents home phone along with my cellphone (landlines always go through faster for me, and is how I won most of these tickets).

In the past I won tickets to Kanye, Mikey Cyrus, Kid Cudi, Bryce Vine, and even front row Jingle Bash tickets one year! It’s been a little while since I’ve won any, granted covid has been a thing so shows really haven’t been going on, but this weekend my luck struck again: Russ DM’d me on instagram giving me two tickets to his upcoming show in Chicago!

Now, I honestly couldn’t tell you if I was more excited to get a message from him or the fact that I’ll be getting to see him live, but wow was I jumping around like a little kid jacked up on sugar LOL. The nice thing is that my boyfriend also listens to him and likes his music, so we will get to enjoy the show together!

What is super ironic about this whole thing is that I’ve been on a self-care journey for quite a while now, and I’m learning a lot about manifesting and gratitude. My coworker had actually recommended Russ’ book “It’s All In Your Head” to me a while back and she sent me his digital book via email. Well on Saturday morning my friend was over and was still asleep, so I decided to take that time to read the rest of his book on my phone, and I was completely inspired by it!

When my friend woke up I was telling her about some of the stuff I read (I’ve attached an excerpt from the book on here as I had shared it to my instagram page), and was just reflecting back on the book throughout the day! It was later in the afternoon when we were back at my house and I saw Russ had posted an instagram story “2 min ago” and he was talking about giving out tickets to fans as he had been all week. I immediately messaged him in hopes that he’d see it, and within a couple more minutes my wish was granted!

I am still honestly in shock that he DM’d me and that my boyfriend and I get to see him live, and I’m so very grateful as I’ve been missing concerts so much lately! It’s next month and it can’t come soon enough! Now I’m inspired to keep looking for more concerts and ticket giveaways!

I hope everyone had a great weekend and has a great week ahead! Sending you all love and positivity!
