Do you have a favorite place you have visited? Where is it?
My first thought when I read this was Aruba. Just over five years ago my husband and I went on a cruise where Aruba was one of the stops, and we were absolutely in love. The clear blue water, the beach, the weather… we kept saying we would get married in Aruba and couldn’t wait to go back.
Shortly after that cruise, Covid happened. We had let our passports expire in 2021 since we figured we probably still wouldn’t leave the country for a while still with just the state of the world and what not, and low and behold we got married in Pensacola Beach Florida, so now we can renew them and I can get my new passport with my new last name!
Speaking of Pensacola Beach, that was the very next thought that popped into my head after thinking that Aruba was my favorite place I visited. Of course Pensacola now has a special place in my heart considering we got married there, but honestly I look forward more to returning there than to Aruba. Pensacola has the gorgeous white sandy beaches, the calm energy, and the hotel we stayed at had ocean views on both sides- it truly just felt so peaceful.
Overall, I’d go back to Pensacola Beach before I’d go to Aruba- so that is my favorite place I’ve visited.

Describe your most memorable vacation.
I have been blessed to do a little bit of traveling over the years. My fiancé and I have gone on a few caribbean cruises together, and although those are packed with adventure and seeing many places, I’ll always remember our trip to Los Angeles.
I remember planning the trip and booking two different hotels so that we could see a couple main attentions while we enjoyed our long weekend. For the first hotel, we were close to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. We got to go to the wax museum and for the first time I went to Ripley’s Believe it or Not museum. Mind you, I was 20 years old when this trip happened!
At our second hotel we stayed closer to Venice Beach. Our hotel was modern and had a bar attached, and I remember we got lucky one night and no one carded us! I ended up getting a few dirty shirley’s and I remember feeling so badass and free LOL!
We ended up renting bikes and rode down the Santa Monica Pier, and although this was probably my favorite date we ever had, I can’t help but remember when one of my contacts flew out of my eye and we had to uber back to the hotel to grab my spare one! I was so upset and panicky when in reality we had a solution- I just get triggered when things don’t go as planned.
At the end of our trip, we had enjoyed our time and the weather so much that we started looking at apartments about an hour outside of LA, but we never did end up making that big move. Looking back, I am really glad we ended up staying where we are, but I definitely want to take another trip there someday!
This week, my weekend starts on Thursday as my boyfriend and I go on “baecation!” (yes, I know I’m lame lol). The last time we had a vacation together (just us two) was 2016, so you can say it’s a bit overdue. I’m so excited to just get away for the weekend, relax and spend time with my love. We always have the best time together, and I found out there is a P.F. Chang’s where we’re going (aka my obsession) so now I’m even more excited!
The only plan we have right now is a couples massage on the day we arrive, setting the relaxing vibe for the weekend! We’re just going to go with the flow and enjoy our time together away from the realities of work and responsibilities. It’s always nice to disconnect from the world and reconnect with each other without distractions.
Tomorrow I have an appointment with my OB, we’re going to talk about my breast cyst (although I already have an appt with the surgeon next month), and I want to hopefully discuss symptoms of PCOS and/or discuss how to test fertility. I’m also having irregular periods lately; currently I’m four days late, but I had a negative pregnancy test today. I feel like I’m probably going to get my period tomorrow, which kinda sucks as I will have to deal with that on vacation.
I just have two more days to work this week, I can get through it! I was absolutely exhausted today; it’s the first of the month so we had to do a lot of statements and re-verifying insurance, so it was just a lot of tedious repetition. I honestly really enjoy this job; I never bring work home with me, and that’s something I’ve really needed as I need to make it a point to focus on self care, and when I’m mentally exhausted and depressed, it’s much harder to do.
My boyfriend and I have been going to the gym on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s, and then we typically pick a weekend day to go as well (however I partied a little too hard for Halloween so I had a lazy Sunday and did NOT want to go this weekend).
It’s been nice getting into a routine and getting more comfortable in the gym! I need to set some reasonable goals and start aiming for them, maybe we can do that while we’re on vacation! Can’t wait for Thursday! I hope everyone has a great week!
I am so tired today, and I can’t help but feel down although I had a nice, productive weekend. I honestly don’t even feel like posting on here right now, but I also know I’d be much more upset with myself if I didn’t.
Next weekend is my family weekend away with my mom, aunts, grandma and my cousin’s wife. I’m looking forward to seeing the family and being able to relax and also explore a town I’ve never been to before! I think we are staying in a cabin, as that’s what we usually do, and I’m ready for this short getaway.
My boyfriend and I finally booked a vacation for just us in November. We are going to be relaxing in our spa resort for a quick weekend getaway, and I cannot wait! I love spending time with my boyfriend, and we always have the best time together on vacation. We haven’t had a vacation since October 2019, so this is long overdue.
I’m gonna relax the rest of today, maybe go grab a pumpkin spice latte since I’m craving it for some reason. I hope everyone has a good week ahead!
I had an amazing weekend with one of my best friends from high school! I went up in northern WI to visit her and she lives five minutes from the lake, so we had quite a fun-filled adventure of a weekend!
The Wisconsin State Fair was in town which was absolute perfect timing, as they announced the dates after we had already planned this weekend. So our weekend was full of concerts and fair rides, as well as funnel cakes and cheese curds! We also went out on her boyfriend’s boat and jet ski which was honestly the most fun thing I’ve done in quite a while!
We also went hiking and to the zoo in her town, and she made a nice crab dinner which was heavenly. We went to the beach, we went to the bars… it was just a total blast! I got home last night and was so happy to be able to snuggle with my boyfriend (I missed him like crazy even though we were having fun)!
Today my boyfriend had to go back into the office after over a year of working from home. I had the day off as I feel you always need a day after vacation to catch back up on life and recharge. I did laundry, grocery shopped, made a sh*t-ton of bacon (LOL), and also finished up making gifts for my friend for her wedding that I’m in this upcoming weekend! Oh, I also learned a tik-tok dance (cringe, I know), but to be honest, it was fun!
This month is super busy for me, and normally I’d be overwhelmed but I have been feeling relatively good lately! I’m planning to keep this mindset as the days go by! I hope everyone is having a good Monday!
