Early Morning

blog

Well, it’s 5:49am on Sunday and I am typing this blog post while laying in bed. I woke up about 20-30 minutes ago to use the bathroom, and when I was trying to fall back asleep, I heard a noise from the kitchen. I walked out there and our cat Mushu decided to knock over the recycle bin like a dog (she likes eating plastic).

I walked out there & told her “no” and pushed her away from the bin and then put it all back and went back to bed. Not even five minutes later I hear the same noise again. This time I decided I needed to go empty the recycling so I brought it downstairs and I came back up and redirected her to her water bowl. She drank some and then was distracted by a box that was on the floor for her and she started playing with that, which is honestly what I was hoping for.

In the midst of trying to pet her while she was in play mode (I really need to stop doing that) I ended up getting a pretty decent scratch on my arm. I have cleaned it and put some ointment and a bandaid on it now, and honestly I’m ready to go back to sleep for a few hours. I’m going to go over to my mom’s later this morning and I’m looking forward to our walk together. It’s supposed to be sunny and beautiful today, which is perfect for mother’s day!

My husband and I went over to his parents’ house yesterday and brought over some Olive Garden for dinner! It was nice to just sit and chat about life and their business. I’m going to start helping them with their website and social media, so that will be a fun project to work on! I’m hoping this keeps me busy and excited to continue to work on my own creative projects!

I’m realizing that today is the last day of March and that is just wild to me right now. I had my pre-op appointment for my procedure coming up on Thursday, and I definitely feel more informed, but I’m also a bit more anxious.

I’m not worried about going under anesthesia or the actual procedure, but I’m a little more concerned about the recovery process. It sounds like I will be pretty miserable for quite a few days.

I’m not only getting a tonsillectomy, I will also be have a nasal surgery done that will reduce my tissue and allow me to breathe better… once I’m recovered. During recover though, I will not be able to breathe through my nose at all, because when I wake up from my surgery, my nose will be completely packed and taped.

In an ideal world, I will not have a lot of bleeding and I will not have insane amounts of pain. I am going to follow all the instructions so I can have the best and easiest recovery possible. I am going to continue to remind myself that the pain is temporary, and in the long run it will be so worth it!

No more tonsil stones and recurring swelling. No more insane nose congestion when I have a cold or illness. I’ll be able to breathe through my nose fully and train myself to stop being a mouth-breather. One of my coworkers said after she had hers out at 21, she doesn’t have any post nasal drip issues anymore, and she rarely gets sick- so I am hopeful that I will have that same result!

In the end, I have to put faith in the doctor and the nurses, and I am doing that. I know this is a common procedure and I am actually going to the same doctor that my coworker did, so I know he does good work! I can trust in myself to follow the instructions and be able to manage the pain for a few days.

I also am putting faith in the universe, in my angels and guides. I pray they watch over me during the surgery and recovery, keeping me safe and protected. I pray they watch over my husband while he takes care of me- he hates to see me in pain. Thank you for wrapping us in your love and support, and I trust that all will be more than okay in the end. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Rainy Sunday

blog

Enjoying a peaceful morning reading my book and admiring the fog outside. I’m getting breakfast with my friend in a few hours, but it’s so nice starting the day slow and quiet.

I have my pre-op appointment for my tonsillectomy tomorrow, and then surgery is bright and early on Thursday morning! I’m doing my best to lean into faith over fear, and luckily this is such a routine procedure that I’m really not too worried about it.

The only thing that I keep thinking about is I worry that my actual voice will sound permanently different, because I am also having my nasal tissue removed/reduced so I can actually breathe properly through my nose. I feel like I have a pretty nasally voice, so I’m interested to see if that changed afterwards.

Regardless I’m sure all will go smoothly, for now I’m just working on keeping myself calm and my nervous system regulated.

Back and Better!

blog

We’re so happy to be home after our short little getaway! My boyfriend and I had 3-night-stay in Myrtle Beach over the past weekend, and it was quite a relaxing time! I was happy to have a balcony with an ocean view; being able to listen to the waves whenever I wanted was a wonderful pastime.

Honestly, at one point while just sitting in solitude on the deck, I began to tear up; I always feel so at peace when I’m near the water. It is a goal of mine to one day live near the ocean, or at least a large body of water in which I could paddle board or kayak. I don’t know…it’s just something about being on the water that gives me a feeling of serenity.

Although we somehow brought our cold, windy weather with us to North Carolina, we still very much enjoyed our time together. It was fun checking out local restaurants and just chilling in the hotel hot tub outside. I will say, the couples massage with the jacuzzi sea salt soak was definitely the highlight of the trip! The Swedish massage was much needed, but wow did it hurt at certain points!

It was nice to get away for the weekend to celebrate my boyfriend’s 27th birthday together and just disconnect for a while. This trip made me want to travel more, but honestly even just finding small towns and places in my state within a few hours driving distance sounds fun and within budget! Of course now it’s getting colder out and winter is right around the corner, but I can start my research on areas to check out! Not to mention, find some local holiday events!

We got back home yesterday, and today was overall a productive day. I grocery shopped, donated some clothes to Goodwill, and got some services done for my car! I’m also excited to continue the gym routine and set some fitness goals! Well, it is back to work for me tomorrow morning; I hope everyone is having a great week so far and has a great week ahead!

Hello, new week!

blog

Happy Monday! Back at work after a nice weekend away with my family; my aunts, mom, grandma, cousin’s wife and I all went away on a girl’s trip! We did some exploring outside and in the cute downtown area, and it was overall a decent time! Now I’m just counting down the days for my boyfriend and I to take our vacation!

My boyfriend and I made a rough schedule for ourselves for the gym and our stream (we want to get back on twitch and regularly stream content for people). Today we technically should be starting the stream, but we will see how it goes! We’re planning to mainly do some reaction videos and also stream when we take car rides together, as that is always a fun time LOL.

I’m just excited to spend more time together, and also I’m excited to be back in the gym. I went a couple of times last weekend (not this past one but the one before that), and also went on a walk outside last week when it was finally nice out. I am making it a priority to get moving and focus on my health a bit more! Of course this past weekend I ate terribly, so that gives extra motivation to keep staying on track!

I also had my halloween shop drop over the weekend, and I sold five items so far which is exciting! I also got to decorate my house with some of my creations which makes me happy! I think I’m going to do a little less for the Thanksgiving drop next month since the shop drops haven’t been selling out, and I’m going to be focused on house stuff and the vacation coming up.

Overall I feel like this is going to be a good rest of 2021, and I am staying positive and focused on my goals! I hope everyone has a great week!
