Wake Up/ Sleep

blog

What time do you go to bed and wake up currently?

My alarm goes off at 6am every day so I can get up and give my cat her insulin. I stay up during the weekdays since I go to work shortly after, but on most weekends I will usually go back to bed until about 9am.

As far as going to bed, if I fall asleep too early like 9:30-10:00pm, then my body wakes me up around 5am which I honestly don’t prefer. I’ve been trying to go to bed later around 10:30-11:00pm so I can sleep through the night until my alarm.

Comfort Strats

blog

What strategies do you use to increase comfort in your daily life?

When I think of comfort, I think of peace. Some of the things I do to increase comfort are:

• wearing comfortable clothing (sweats & yogas)

• listening to calming music like Cleo Sol

• stretching my body in an intentional and slow way

• journaling (brings the mind comfort)

Prompt

blog

On what subject(s) are you an authority?

At first I was like I really can’t think of anything, but in reality that’s not completely true. I could talk a lot about dental insurance from the aspect of working within a dental office. I can talk about my own healing journey from growing up with alcoholic parents as well. I also could discuss relationship advice, but again based on my own relationship/marriage with my husband. I guess I still wouldn’t say I’m an authority on any of these subjects though because it’s all based on my own experience, rather than hard facts and research.

Expressing Gratitude

blog

How do you express your gratitude?

When it comes to thanking someone for a gift, I always like to send a hand written thank you note. I’ll always thank someone in person as well and usually give them a hug, but there’s something special about sending out a note that I prefer.

As far as expressing gratitude in a general sense, I love writing down the things I am grateful for. I also will find myself talking out loud to the universe about the people and things I am grateful for as well, typically when I’m alone in my car LOL.

Since today’s theme is gratitude, here are 10 things I am feeling grateful for this morning:

  1. my husband/our marriage
  2. our home
  3. our health
  4. our cats
  5. our jobs
  6. good music
  7. the sun (sunrises/sunsets/sunshine)
  8. genuine friendships
  9. iced coffee
  10. podcasts

Worries (Prompt)

blog

What are you most worried about for the future?

Over the years, I have been actively trying to surrender to faith and re-route my thoughts when I find myself worried about the future. It’s so easy to go into a worry spirals- asking all the “what ifs,” but now I try to think “what if it all works out and my current worrying is just preventing my peace?”

Let’s be real though, ya girl still has worries LOL. I’d say the main ones are the huge ones like:

• Which of my parents will pass first- how to handle supporting the other one

• What will happen with my brother-in-law when my MIL/FIL pass away in the future

• Will my husband and I be able to have children

Surgery

blog

Have you ever had surgery? What for?

In April of this year, I had a Tonsillectomy, Adenoidectomy, and nasal tissue reduction. I did this as I had tonsils that were continuously infected and filled with tonsil stones. The nasal tissue reduction helps me to breathe better through my nose! The recovery process was horrible considering I’m about to be 30, but I’m glad it’s over with!

once I was back at home (day of surgery)
